The Cascadia Rolling Hills expansion brings new ways to play, additional challenges, and even more variety to the beloved Cascadia board game. Designed by Flatout Games, this expansion enhances the sprawling habitats, wildlife corridors, and harmonious ecosystems that make Cascadia such a hit among board game fans.
With two versions of gameplay, players can enjoy simultaneously rolling dice, fulfilling wildlife goals, and placing beautiful natural landmarks as they explore the Pacific Northwest in a whole new way. If you love Cascadia games and want to expand your collection, the Cascadia Rolling Hills expansion is a must-have addition!
What’s New in Cascadia Rolling Hills?
The Cascadia Rolling Hills expansion adds more strategic depth, exciting challenges, and fresh mechanics to the original game. Whether you're a new player or a seasoned Cascadia fan, this expansion offers a fun and engaging way to create the most harmonious ecosystem while enjoying new wildlife corridors, habitat cards, and scoring conditions.
1. Rolling Dice for New Challenges
One of the most exciting additions to Cascadia Rolling Hills is the ability to simultaneously roll dice to determine your options for habitat tile placement and wildlife goals. This introduces a dynamic and interactive element, keeping players engaged while strategizing their moves in real time.
Each roll of the dice adds an extra layer of planning and adaptability, making every game feel fresh and unique while still maintaining the strategic tile-laying gameplay that fans love.
2. Place Beautiful Natural Landmarks
The landmarks expansion introduced beautiful natural landmarks to the world of Cascadia, and Rolling Hills takes it even further! Now, players can place beautiful natural landmarks within their sprawling habitats, adding visual appeal and strategic scoring opportunities.
These landmarks give each environment its own look, helping players build immersive landscapes that not only look stunning but also impact the game’s scoring mechanics.
3. Complete Habitat Cards and Wildlife Goals
To create the most harmonious ecosystem, players will need to fulfill wildlife goals and complete habitat cards. With Cascadia Rolling Hills, the expansion introduces new habitat cards that present exciting new objectives and scoring opportunities.
Earn points by collecting wildlife and connecting habitat corridors
Fulfill wildlife goals to create dynamic endgame scoring bonuses
Strategically place habitat tiles to achieve the largest habitat corridors
4. Two Versions of Gameplay
Whether you're looking for a quick, streamlined experience or a deep strategic challenge, Cascadia Rolling Hills has you covered! The expansion features two versions of play, allowing players to choose between:
A fast-paced rolling dice version, where players make decisions on the fly
A strategic tile-placement version, perfect for those who love deep planning and optimization
With these two versions, the game becomes even more accessible and engaging for players of all skill levels.
